I have a thing for simple solutions to basic human needs. Operation Smile is a compassionate, innovative approach to childhood medicine in developing countries.
All too often, we can take simple things for granted: a roof over our heads, clean water, even early childhood medical support.
In developing countries, cleft lips and palates - disfigurements which are routinely and easily fixed in the US - often go unprepared. Many of these children grow up feeling alienated, cut off from their own societies. Cleft deformities also present physiological challenges to leading normal lives.
I became aware of Operation Smile several years ago through a physician friend. He and his wife began accompanying medical missions to repair cleft palates in underserved, developing countries.
Since then, Operation Smile has become an important part of my life and giving. Everyone deserves the life-saving, high-quality care most in the US have access to. Until that kind of care is universal, I'm proud to support Operation Smile and hope you will join me.
Together, We Can Change Lives
Operation Smile mobilizes a world of generous hearts to heal children’s smiles and transform lives across the globe. Operation Smile’s network of volunteers works worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates.
I hope you'll help me bring hope and new smiles to children suffering from facial deformities.
