Beginning in 2009, the Pirates of Lynnhaven Kayak Fishing Club (POL) out of Tidewater Virginia began an annual fund raising event for Operation Smile called Paddling Miles for Smiles. In the first year, POL raised over $4000. This year the club is looking to more than double that amount. Paddling Miles for Smiles is a 10 mile kayak paddle in Tidewater Virginia. Information about the event will be posted on http://www.piratesoflynnhaven.org. This year Miles for Smiles takes place on May 1, 2010 launching from the Chesapeake Yacht Club. Please donate what you can to make this event ever bigger than last year.

Operation Smile mobilizes a world of generous hearts to heal children’s smiles and transform lives across the globe. Operation Smile’s network of volunteers works worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates.
