Since I was crowned in January, I have been introduced to so many important charities, but I have never been more moved than seeing the before and after of an Operation Smile procedure. Though I knew Operation Smile's mission, I didn't grasp the incredible work that they do for children across the globe until I attended their annual their gala in May. Throughout the course of the evening, I watched as one family's life was changed forever.

A Colombian family whose child had been born with a major facial deformity shared their story from a new Operation Smile center in Bogota minutes before their son went into surgery. It was so moving to hear the pain of the parents as they spoke about how difficult their child's life had been so far. There was then hope in their voice as they described how their lives were about to change over the course of the next 45 minutes.
After the surgery was through, we checked back in with the family. They had tears in their eyes at the results. In just 45 minutes-- with the help of a donation of 240 dollars-- their child was given the chance for a normal life.
As this new Operation Smile center opens close to my home in Bogota, their mission to give children a normal life no matter their financial background is so important. I hope you can help me bring smiles across the globe and help change lives.

Operation Smile mobilizes a world of generous hearts to heal children’s smiles and transform lives across the globe. Operation Smile’s network of volunteers work worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates.

In as few as 45 minutes a child can be saved from a lifetime of pain, shame and isolation. You can give them a chance to go to school, make friends and have a bright future. For as little as $240 you can provide a free surgery for a child suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate
