The 18th annual International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) is for motivated high school and college students from around the world. All participants must be at least 15 years old. This four day conference gives youth opportunities to learn lessons of leadership from those who lead. Through these experiences, Operation Smile empowers students to create and reach goals, actively participate in society, and change lives. The ISLC will be held from August 1-August 5 at the University of Denver, in Denver, Colorado. Five hundred students will attend the conference, and listen to speeches from motivational leaders who have already made an imprint on society, and interact in small breakout sessions. Opportunities for team building and character development will stretch youth to take personal leaps that will ultimately lead to their growth and the betterment of others. Attendees will also spend a portion of a day at an exciting off-site activity that will illuminate Denver’s culture. If circumstances necessitate a student’s cancellation from the ISLC, a written notice must be sent to Operation Smile: Student Programs/ISLC; 6435 Tidewater Drive; Norfolk, VA 23509. Notices sent via mail must be postmarked on or before June 15, 2010. Faxed and emailed requests will be honored if received on or before June 15, 2010. Requests given verbally (via telephone) will not be considered. Notices received on or before June 15, 2010 will receive a full refund less the non-refundable deposit of $75. Because the program requires extensive planning, costs are incurred long before departure. No refunds will be issued on or after June 16, 2010. Please allow 6-8 weeks for your refund to process.
