About Team RunNerds
We are a group of nerds and runners who want to put our passion to use! Since 2012, four RunNerds have completed the LA Marathon - and three of them have completed it twice! More importantly, together with friends and family, we have raised over $2,400 and changed the lives of 10 children who needed surgery to fix a cleft palate!
In 2015, we will continue to raise money for Operation Smile. Our page here has a goal of $5,000. How quickly can we reach that goal? With that money raised we can impact the lives of 21 different people and give them something to smile about!
While we come from all over the world and all walks of life, one thing ties us together: we're all nerdy about something! Gaming, technology, science, TV, movies, sports, whatever. Brought together by the magic of the Internet, we wanted to give back to a wonderful charity, Operation Smile. Because, let's face it - after 26.2 miles, you gotta be smiling at your accomplishment! Whether it's your first marathon, your tenth, or a new personal record time, a marathon is a joyous occasion, and no one should be denied the ability to smile.
Our runners come from all backgrounds. We aim to create a group who can support each other all the way to the finish line, and encourage others to get out and enjoy running wherever they may be. Even though the LA Marathon is our annual race, we know that not everyone can make the trip to California. We want to encourage runners to find a race in your area and share this page with your friends and family.
We welcome runners of all abilities and experience, and want to give everyone who wants to participate the chance to do so! We are currently looking for people who want to run the 2015 LA Marathon with us! There is still time to join if you are able. If you are interested in joining us, e-mail me at xfkirsten@gmail.com for details!
Thank you for your support!
