Maegen Novak
Maegen Novak is a Greensboro native that enjoys getting involved with causes dear to her heart. Whether it be giving her time to raise funds for Family Service of the Piedmont, volunteering as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, or helping Girls on the Run of the Triad get on its feet, she is always willing to contribute to lift others up so they live fulfilling and happy lives.
Maegen earned her Bachelor of Arts from UNC Greensboro and her Master of Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill. She is the owner of Yay! Brand, LLC, a product and lifestyle brand focused on promoting self-love and acceptance. She is also the Lead Care Guide for the Community Care Consortium, a Cone Health program that helps underserved populations in our community access the help they need by connecting them with local nonprofits and governmental agencies. Maegen loves spending time with her husband, David, and their darling daughter, Reynolds, 3. They are always on the go, as traveling is their favorite thing to do. Whether it is attending concerts, heading to the coast, or seeking foreign adventures, they are always ready for the next journey! She is grateful to be a part of this year’s Dancing with the Carolina Stars!
Maegen feels that Operation Smile is an important organization because of the joy and happiness it brings to the children through its surgeries. There is no greater happiness than a child’s laughter and wellbeing, and Operation Smile’s mission is just that! Since her husband is a dentist, there is no better way to give back than to help children with their smiles, as it is near and dear to the Novak family!

Operation Smile is an international medical charity whose global network of thousands of credentialed medical volunteers from over 80 countries is committed to helping improve the health and lives of children from more than 60 countries. Since 1982, we've worked with local medical professionals, governments, hospitals and other NGOs to deliver the safest care to each of our patients, and have established care centers wherever possible to give children ongoing medical treatment.
Operation Smile continues to provide training and education for local medical professionals so they can provide care within their own communities and share their expertise. To date, we have provided more than 220,000 free surgeries for children born with cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities.
